At least Debbi’s shrieking stopped. Barry only managed to escape because he was on top. The last thing he saw before he fled were skinless fingers burrowing into her torso, retreating underground with fistfuls of entrails. Blood spatter painted the headstone. A grab at Barry’s ankle started him streaking, shrieking, through the misty night.

He jumped and dodged to avoid the decaying hands pocking the graveyard like macabre dandelions. Tenuous grips sheared his skin.

Terror burned his chest.

Torn skin flapped painfully about his feet.

Barry made for his car but his shredded feet were not having it. Agony brought him down hard onto the asphalt. The decrepit hands followed, like bony spiders clicking and skittering across the pavement.

The abandoned car was towed a week later.
